Martin Schmalzried holds a Master’s Degree from the ULB (Brussels) in Political Science. He has been working at COFACE-Families Europe as a Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager for 12 years. He has been responsible for the portfolio of financial services since January 2009. He was a member of the DG CNECT CEO Alliance for protecting children online, expert at the Council of Europe on Digital Citizenship. He was a Member of the Financial Services Users Group (FSUG) from 2013 to 2020, and is a Member of the EBA Banking Stakeholder Group since 2016, and the EIOPA IRSG since 2020. His areas of expertise are financial inclusion, creditworthiness, big data in financial services, fintechs, blockchain and virtual currencies.
